Principal's Report

Dear Parents, Teachers and Students,

Open Day Tours and Information Evening
Thank you and congratulations to our Student Representative Council who did a wonderful job of guiding our Open Day tours yesterday and today. We have an information evening for Kinder 2022 tonight in the Library at 7pm.

Anyone who was unable to make it to either of these events is welcome to contact the school office to arrange a personal tour.

NAPLAN
Well done to the Year 3 and 5 students who have, over the last week, completed NAPLAN. We have until Friday to complete any catch-up sessions for students who were away on one of their class’ NAPLAN days.

Confirmation
This Friday will be the Confirmation Retreat Day for the forty confirmandi receiving the Sacrament this weekend. There is a particularly large group receiving the Sacrament this year because last year’s Confirmation was postponed due to COVID-19. Confirmation Masses will be on Saturday at 12 noon and at 6pm, and on Sunday at 10:30am. Confirmation completes Baptism, by which in the laying on of hands and anointing with Chrism Oil, which first happened at Baptism, we are confirmed with the fullness of the Holy Spirit. We are reminded of our participation in the ministry and mission of Jesus and strengthened to follow Jesus more closely.

Vinnies CEO Sleepout
This year I am again participating in the Vinnies CEO Sleepout. On Thursday 17 June I will be joining a number of Catholic School Principals and business leaders to sleep rough at the National Arboretum in Canberra and raise much needed money for those in our community who can't afford the basics - food, education, utilities and even a place to call home. Dutton Street Update
A reminder to all families using Dutton Street as a drop off/pick up zone to be patient and especially mindful of traffic and pedestrian safety while the footpath upgrade is proceeding; work on the footpath should be completed by early next week. If at all possible, I ask families to consider alternative arrangements to reduce congestion at the front of the school. To view the Dutton Street Safety Plan, click here.
