Religious Education in the Classroom
Welcome to Week 7! Year 4 students are learning about the seven sacraments of the Catholic Church and focusing on the Sacraments of Healing. The seven sacraments are organised into three categories:

Sacraments of Initiation - Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist;

Sacraments of Healing - Penance and Anointing of the Sick;

Sacraments of Service - Matrimony and Holy Orders.

I asked students to explain what the sacraments mean to them and below are their answers.

Lydia: I can use the Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick because I could be a nurse when I am older to help people feel better.

Mia: To change your actions and to forgive other people.

Ted: To pray to God.

Imogen: I use the Eucharist Sacrament because I go to Mass every Saturday night.

Toby: I use the Reconciliation Sacrament every time I have done something. I pray to God and say sorry.

5/6GZ have been learning about The Trinity: the unity of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit as three in one Godhead. Below are students’ visual representations of the Holy Spirit.

This week Mt Carmel launched Vinnies Christmas Appeal and each classroom has been provided with a basket for donations. At the end of the term, we will be delivering them to the St Augustine’s Conference, Yass, of St Vincent de Paul. We are seeking your support to help those less fortunate in our community through generous donations of non-perishable food items. Your generosity and support is most appreciated.
