Principal Report
Athletics
Today the last events of the Athletics Carnival were completed—1500m Track and 12-year-old boys High Jump. Thanks to all for your patience and we look forward to the announcement of Age Champions and the winning House on Friday morning at the start of our school assembly at 9am.
Cross Country
Yesterday eight hardy Mt Carmel students braved the wintery conditions to compete in the Archdiocesan Cross Country at Stromlo Forest Park in the ACT. Well done to you all, and special congratulations to Jeremy Bremner, Aidan Cassidy, Brodie Doyle and Jed Newman who all qualified to represent the Canberra-Goulburn Archdiocese at the NSWCPS event at Eastern Creek next Friday.
PSSA Boys Touch Football State Carnival
Congratulations to Baxter Sicily who has been selected to represent MacKillop at the State Touch Football Carnival in Newcastle nest term.
Book Fair and Grandparents Morning Tea
Congratulations to Mrs Turner for another successful Book Fair and an enormous thank you to the parent volunteers who helped out on the day. The joy that our students experience showing their grandparents and special older friends around the school is truly beautiful. Your support of the Book Fair will help to provide lots of new books for our school library.
Review of Counselling and Wellbeing Services
In the interests of ensuring our students have access to high quality programs and systems to support their wellbeing, Catholic Education is conducting a review of the wellbeing services and programs that are currently available in all CE schools. As key stakeholders, parents are invited to complete an online survey, which may be accessed by following the hyperlink: https://forms.gle/tV3PRYh4VVVprMyQ9.
In advance, I thank you for taking the time to share your insights and perspectives. Students and school staff will also be given the opportunity to contribute to this review. At the conclusion of the process a report will be provided on the findings and related plans for the future to ensure that the services available to our students are of the highest quality.
Happy Long Weekend
And finally, I hope that everyone has a restful mid-term break for the upcoming Queen’s Birthday Long Weekend and that all who are on the roads travel safely.
May God’s peace be in your families,
