Principal Report

Book Week
It is that time again when we get dressed up for the day to celebrate our favourite characters, stories and the love of reading. I hope parents, grandparents and friends can make it to the Book Week Parade to be held this Friday at 12.30pm, with a sausage sizzle lunch to follow; thank you to the wonderful parents who have volunteered to help with the BBQ. This year’s theme for Book Week is Reading is My Secret Power, and I am very much looking forward to the super-spectacle of Friday's costume parade. I do hope that Mrs Turner can make it this year! As part of our Book Week celebrations, tomorrow Mt Carmel will be visited by the wonderful author and illustrator, Tohby Riddle; a gentle reminder to families who have not yet paid the $4 incursion fee.

Irish and Celtic Music Festival Children’s Workshops
On 14-15 September, as part of the Irish and Celtic Music Festival, Mt Carmel will be hosting the Junior Fleadh.

Fleadh (pronounced flah) is a Celtic word that means festival, and it is a chance for students who are interested in Irish music to come and join in free instrumental and dance workshops, culminating in a concert in the Lovat Chapel; all experience levels are welcome. More information and an RSVP link can be found further in this newsletter.

May God’s peace be in your families,
