Lacey Library Book Week News
Last week we celebrated Children’s Book Week at Mt Carmel School. The CBCA theme for this year was “Reading is My Secret Power.” At recess, story time was held in the library and thank you to Mr Green and Mrs Harvey for reading stories to K-6 students. At lunchtime there were Year 5 library monitors readers theatre, and the Year 5 library monitors performed “Let’s Be Super Heroes” dance.
It was such a perfect sunny day on Friday which allowed the Book Week parade to proceed with all the book characters from K-6.The students looked fabulous! The staff came as Super Heroes looking for this Secret Power which Wonder Woman told them to find it in a Book.
A special thank you to Emma Merriman, Deborah Donaldson, Tanya McPherson, Tamara Richardson, Chris Gold, Anthony Glover and Mat Broers for cooking the BBQ so as the students could have a warm sausage sandwich after their special parade. A special thank you to Mrs Lynne Patmore for her creativity and extra help. A very big thank you to Mr Richard Bush for taking photographs of the Book Parade and library displays. Book Week is a special time for our students and it allows the library to change for two weeks and show how your children celebrate literature through their class displays guided by their creative teachers.
