Confirmation
Hearty congratulations to our 11 Year 6 students who celebrated the Sacrament of Confirmation last Sunday. Confirmation was celebrated by Archbishop Christopher Prowse, who spoke succinctly in his homily about the Church’s call to Belong, Believe and Become: through participation in the Sacrament of Confirmation, these students have affirmed the commitment that their parents made on their behalf in Baptism; this belonging, expressed through, amongst other things, participation in Mass, the sacraments and prayer, leads us to belief – a personal encounter with the risen Christ; we can then become true disciples of Jesus, each of us living and acting out God’s love and mercy in the world. The morning tea that was held in the PAC following the Sacrament was very well-supported and a lovely community gathering. My sincere thanks to David Green for the beautiful ambience he added to our celebration by giving our grand piano a good workout.

Uniform Survey
Thank you to everybody who responded to the uniform survey. The results were 175 in favour of the proposal, 20 against, so the changes will be adopted from the beginning of Term 4. The new uniform items will be available to order via Qkr and at the uniform shop from next week.

  

Stage 3 Camp
Years 5 and 6 headed off to Warrambui for Camp today; it is set to be an exciting three days. I will be joining students and teachers on Wednesday and Thursday evenings. I am very grateful for the commitment of our wonderful staff who are giving up two nights with their own families (and probably more than a few hours of sleep) so that our students can participate in this fabulous outdoor education experience. 

Open Classroom Evening
A reminder that we will be holding an Open Classroom afternoon next Wednesday 18 September from 3:30 to 5:30pm. You are warmly invited to come with your child to visit their classroom and share in the wonderful work that they have been doing this term. Although an Open Classroom is not the appropriate forum for a Parent-Teacher Interview, parents are always welcome to make an individual appointment any time they would like to discus their child’s progress.
