Principal Report
Dear Parents, Teachers and Students,
Welcome to Term 4
A very warm welcome back to all our students, staff and families. I do hope that the two-week break was restful and enjoyable for everyone. A very special welcome back and congratulations to Miss Rootsey, who returns to Mt Carmel as Mrs Goode after her wedding towards the end of last term.
Term 4 is always busy and I’m sure that this year will be no exception. There are a number of significant events coming up including Walkathon, the Boorowa Touch Football and Netball Carnival, a School Disco, the end of year Christmas Concert and our Year 6 Graduation, to name just a few.
Walkathon
Thank you to everyone who has returned their walkathon card. At this stage only around half of students have returned their cards and so far we have received a little over $6500 in donations and pledges. Our target this year is $10 000. Qkr has now been set up to receive Walkathon payments too. I ask that all families return their cards tomorrow so that we can let students know if they have raised enough for their Crazy Hair Day reward and so that I know whether or not to bring the clippers...
Kindergarten Orientation
Kinder Orientation for 2020 commences next week on Wednesday 23 October from 9:30am to 12:30pm for three consecutive Wednesdays. New Kinders will need to bring a hat, a water bottle and something to eat for recess. On Wednesday 6 November we will hold a K-2020 Parent Information Evening in the Lacey Library to provide specific information and answer questions about starting school.
Transition to High School
Term 4 is a very exciting, and sometimes nervous, time for our Year 6 students as they prepare for the move to High School. Most schools have transition/orientation days this term and I encourage all students to take advantage of these. Next Monday we will have a guest speaker from Headspace visiting our Year 6 students to discuss self-care and managing emotions in times of transition.
May God’s peace be in your families,
