Dear Parents, Teachers and Students, 

Community Council
Thank you to all families who cast their ballot in the Community Council election, and congratulations to Amber Maher, Georgina Shannon and Simon Cassidy on their successful appointments. The first meeting of the new Community Council, in which new members will be inducted and departing members farewelled, will be held on 12 November.

Fathers’ Day
This Sunday is Father’s Day; I pray that all of the fathers, grandfathers and other men who are special in the lives of our children have a truly blessed day. This Friday KNB will be hosting our Father’s Day prayer service. All families, but especially dads and other significant male role-models, are warmly invited to share this special celebration with us — a link will be provided on Friday morning via SZapp, email and Facebook.

Public Speaking
Congratulations to Milla Shelton, Landon Glover, Delilah Rajic, Mia Buser, Charlotte Alexander, Jack Kelly, Montana Pidding and Cooper Hodges, who all represented Mt Carmel School in last week’s Northern Region Public Speaking competition. Public speaking can be a daunting task under normal circumstances, and these students performed magnificently, presenting their speeches not only to a live audience in their classroom but also to an adjudicator and a remote audience via Zoom. Well done to you all!

Sacrament of Reconiliation
This evening 20 of our students will be celebrating the Sacrament of Reconciliation for the first time. My best wishes and congratulations to all those who will tonight receive this beautiful sacrament and celebrate the grace of God’s forgiveness. A reminder to all families that commitment Masses for the Sacrament of First Eucharist are being held over the next two weekends – 6pm Saturday and 10:15am Sunday in St Augustine’s Church.
