Principal's Report
Dear Parents, Teachers and Students,
We do not usually publish a newsletter in Week 10 of Term 4, but as we were unable to hold Presentation Evening this year I would like to publicly acknowledge the achievements of our students who have been formally recognised for their efforts and accomplishments. A full list of all award recipients, and a photo gallery, follows below. I would also like to congratulate Esther Adie and Hugo Dunstan who today were selected by their classmates and teachers as the Year 5 Student Representative Council members for next year. Well done to you both.
I can confidently say that 2020 has been a year like no other in all my years of teaching. I can also say that, in the face of the many challenges we have encountered as a school community, the many successes of the 2020 school year stand proudly as a tribute to the professionalism, dedication and love that our incredible staff bring to their work each day, and to the enthusiasm, resilience and love that the wonderful children of Mt Carmel School bring to our classrooms and playground every day. 2020 may have been a year of many challenges, but it has also been a year of many blessings.
Thank you to every fabulous family for their support this year; I am very grateful to you all. Thank you to the teaching and support staff for their tireless effort, commitment and vocation.
Thank you to the sensational students; I hope that you are all proud of your efforts and achievements this year. Now it’s time for a rest; take good care over the Christmas break.
May you all, and your families, have a happy and holy Christmas in this year of Our Lord, 2020, and may the peace of the Infant Child be with you every day.
And as a parting gift for the school year, from all of the staff and students at Mt Carmel, please enjoy our telling of the Nativity story:
