Principal's Report
Dear Parents, Teachers and Students,
St Patrick’s Day
Next Wednesday is St Patrick’s Day and we’re going green! The day will begin with a Prayer Assembly in the PAC, hosted by 4SS. Unfortunately, we cannot invite parents to attend the Prayer Assembly; despite easing of COVID-19 restrictions, there is insufficient space in the PAC to accommodate guests. All students are invited to wear green and bring a gold coin donation for Caritas’ Project Compassion. Stage 3 students will also be running a cake stall, so students may choose to bring some money to buy a treat at Recess; again, all proceeds will go to Caritas.
Interim Reports and Parent-Teacher Interviews
Next Friday, Interim Reports will be sent home. Please be mindful that, at this early stage in the year, the purpose of the Interim Report is not to report on assessment, but to provide parents with a broad overview of their child’s engagement with learning. Parent-Teacher Interviews will be held Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday in Week 8. Online bookings for interviews will open at the end of next week.
Bell Shakespeare Incursion
On Tuesday 23 March, Week 8, we are very lucky to have Bell Shakespeare visiting Mt Carmel School to present their production of Just Romeo and Juliet, a collaboration with children’s author Andy Griffiths. The incursion will be for Years 2 to 6, with a cost of $7 per student, which can be paid to the school office or via Qkr. A note with more information will be sent later this week.
Archdiocesan Swimming in Narooma
Well done to all of the students who were selected to represent Mt Carmel at the Archdiocesan Swimming Carnival in Narooma last Monday. Several personal bests were achieved on the day – an outstanding effort by all participants. Congratulations to Jack Ryan, Grace Ryan, and Brooke Reardon, who will be competing at the NSWCPS Swimming Championships in Homebush on Monday 22 March. Good luck!
Cross Country
Our Years 3-6 Cross Country Carnival will be held on Friday 26 March, Week 8, at Walker Park. Being an outdoor event, with the easing of COVID-19 restrictions, parents are welcome to attend as spectators.
