Dear Parents, Teachers and Students,
Confirmation
Congratulations to our Year 6 students who celebrated the Sacrament of Confirmation, officiated by Fr Peter My, last Sunday. These students have affirmed the commitment that their parents made on their behalf in Baptism and received the gifts of the Holy Spirit as they completed the last Sacrament of Initiation into the Catholic faith. Thank you to the Sacramental Team, parents, families, teachers and parish members who have guided these students on their sacramental journey and contributed to the celebrations.
Stage 3 Camp
Years 5 and 6 headed off to the Tops Conference Centre in Stanwell Tops for Camp this morning for the first overnight camp in three years. There was much excitement boarding the bus and heading off on this adventure together. We are very grateful for the commitment of our wonderful staff, Mrs Abbott, Mrs Glover, Ms Grace, Mrs Luckie and Mr Green, who are giving up two nights with their own families (and probably more than a few hours of sleep) so that our students can participate in this fabulous outdoor education experience. Our younger students enjoyed giving the Year 5/6 students a royal wave to wish them on their merry way as the buses departed.
Colour Run
The Community Council are hosting a School Fun Run’s Crazy Colour Day as a major fundraising event this year! The event will be held next term in Week 3 on Friday, 28 October. We are really hoping to raise funds to make our play spaces more creative and colourful. Yesterday the sponsorship flyers were sent home with your child. Once you have the form, you can sign up for a Student Profile Page at www.schoolfunrun.com.au. You’ll be able to access online fundraising and possibly win a $20,000 Ultimate Family Package.
Students who raise $10 or more will receive a reward, and the more money you raise the better the reward, and the more you help the school achieve their fundraising goal. We are encouraging all students to participate and we are looking forward to this great day for our community. Thank you for your continued support of Mt Carmel and we look forward to sharing this wonderful event with the students next term.
Term Dates
Just a reminder that the last day of Term 3 for students will be Wednesday 21 September. Term 4 will commence on Tuesday 11 October and will conclude on Friday 16 December.
May God’s peace be in your families,
Welcome to Week 9! Year 4’s Religious Education unit of work explores: The life and actions of the Church community are modelled on the life and actions of Jesus. During my visit to 4TC students were researching information about an organisation that cares for the marginalised and those in need. This information was used to create a poster to promote the organisation.
Which organisation did the below students choose?
Adam: Vinnies because it does a good job helping people and the homeless.
Sophie: Vinnies because it is a good organisation and it is local.
Axel: Make-A-Wish because it changes children’s lives. It is also part of Jesus’ mission to make people happy.
Grace: Vinnies because it helps people in need, which is a nice thing to do.
Blake: Vinnies because they help people in need and give people a second chance just like Jesus did.
Chloe: Vinnies because I know about it and our school does a lot for Vinnies.
Confirmation
Congratulations to our ten Year 6 students who celebrated the Sacrament of Confirmation last Sunday.
Mt Carmel’s Mini Vinnies News
Our Mini Vinnies team did a great job running the dance challenge to raise funds for our local Yass St Augustine Vinnies. Students enjoyed the experience and had lots of fun! After expenses, we raised $300!!! Thank you to everyone who supported this fundraising event.
God our Father, Help us to embrace those who have made mistakes in their life. Fill us with your compassion and joy so that we are empowered to continue the mission you have called us to. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Boorowa Touch and Netball Carnival
You can now register and pay for students wanting to participate in the Boorowa Touch and Netball Carnival through Qkr! The carnival is in Term 4 on Friday 21st October 2022. Just a reminder that all teams will be school-based teams with preference being given to creating evenly matched teams that will have fun on the day. All student in 2-6 are encouraged to attend as there will be minimal supervision at school.
To register your child/children for the carnival, you will need to add your child's payment to the Qkr! payment cart, and you will then be promoted to complete their registration form.
